Message Title: Silence Your Enemies By Living.
Author: Dr. Hal Hester.
Description: The central message is that we are called to live such good lives among the pagans that though they accuse us doing wrong, they may see our good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. The goal is not to silence critics through words but by out-living them. Our goal is not to out argue, it’s not to defend ourselves, or to demand our rights, but to live the gospel so that those critiques are unfounded. This is especially important because he mentions even the slave-master relationship and government, both of which we American Christians love to rail against because of unjust work and ungodly government officials and laws, to which God says that when we do right, and suffer wrong, that we not only prove that we trust God, but we imitate Jesus. Peter also suggests that before we were God’s people that it was normal to disobey masters and governments but as God’s people we do not live by the world’s standards… Hmmmm….
