Pancake Supper

As the season of Lent comes into view, we are reminded that the forty days leading up to the anniversary of the resurrection is a time for us to do as Jesus did; to fast and pray, and prepare ourselves for what lies ahead in the coming year. It is not something we do to earn favor, because Jesus already paid the price for us. It is not something we do to earn God’s love because he has already shown us his love in sending Jesus (John 3.16). It is a season of spiritual preparation, of maturing in our fight against temptation, and in spending time alone with the Father, just as Jesus did, so that we might be more like Jesus.

There will be plenty of pancakes, bacon, and sausage, fellowship, and brief teachings on Shrove Tuesday and the Lenten Season, there will also be a commissioning of you and fellow believers as we prepare our hearts and minds for Lent. We will be sending out a 40 day devotional beginning on February 14th, Ash Wednesday. You may sign up if you wish to participate in the devotional, its goal is 3-fold: To be in the word daily, to pray with expectation, and to grow in our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
