Luke 2:8-21; Luke 11:13
This is one of the most beloved stories of Advent, the announcement to shepherds watching their flocks by night that Jesus was born. Why does it so capture our hearts? Because the ordinary and humble shepherds got a front row seat to the most spectacular and sacred of events in all of history. In that alone, we get a picture of the God who loves us and gave Himself for us, not because we are so good or great, but because He is.
