Romans 12:1-21

When we speak of transformation often we think in terms of moving from immoral to moral, the focus being on behavior management. And this often leads to what we call sin management, where we try to manage our image as moral, upstanding people, but fail to pursue real transformation. Whereas authentic transformation takes time (lots of it) and ever increasing consumption of grace to offset the debased nature of the ruined soul. Among the things that tell us how we are doing is our tendency to think too highly of ourselves rather than having a reasonable evaluation of our condition, and a reasonable expectation of our need for more grace, not less, as we grow in Christlikeness.
