This prayer, commonly called the Lord’s Prayer, is most beloved and well known for its ease of memorizing. Its honored place in church tradition and liturgy, and its foundational roll in training. But, for all the love give to it, there is also a tendency to be dismissive of it. To relate the prayer to tradition and formula, thus missing its power, and the lessons contained within, or to reduce it to a formula for instruction. But, contained within this prayer are the secrets of a powerful prayer life like that of Jesus Christ himself while he was here on earth. This week’s focus on Our Father, launches this series with pointed insights that will enlighten the student of Jesus and put him or her on their way toward greater intimacy with the Father.
